AN OLD WORLD inspired master bedroom combines textures and rich hues with traditional furniture to create exquisiteness and serenity. Of course, in any bedroom the focus should be on the bed and this one with fine linens is no exception. Trowels of plaster accented with golden luster dust add texture to walls and reflect not just light, but old-age charm.

Given a small space with piles of essential work, the design for this office won Sheree the 2010 ASID Design Excellence Bronze Award. Contemporary furnishings open up the room while use of the alcove for storage purposes alleviates desk space from stress-producing clutter. The compact design reduces traffic pressure beyond the office by allowing more space for hallways and staff amenities.

AFTER RAISING FOUR children and then helping to raise their grandchildren, my clients opted to sell their old family home and move into a 55 and older community. The challenge: their limited budget forced them to retain most if not all of the furniture they acquired back in the sixties and seventies. Our solution: to re-imagine and work with what they had.
